Shapeshifting faeries

In their normal forms, sprites stand 2 feet tall and weigh about 20 pounds. They have slim bodies and appear in all the colors of the rainbow. Sprites make their clothes from found things—a scrap of cloth, a garland of flowers, a skirt of woven grasses—but have little interest in wearing the skins of dead animals.

Sprites have natural magic that lets them change their shapes. They can become small birds the size of wrens, butterflies, or motes of light that float over the ground, looking ever so much like fireflies. Although they can flutter about, they can’t attain much altitude.

Sprite Ancestry

Size: 1/2, Speed: 5
Languages: Sylvan.
Senses: Keen Hearing, Keen Vision
Immune: Infection
Faerie: You are weakened while you wear or carry objects made from iron or its alloys.
Wild Speech: A sprite can communicate with normal animals such as cats, dogs, pigs, and horses. They can interpret the noises animals make, as well as their body language, to get the gist of what they say.
Wee Travel (Magical): When the sprite moves, they can shrink down to Size 1/16, turning into a small bird, butterfly, or a mote of light. Everything the sprite wears and carries shrinks with them. While at this Size, the sprite’s attacks deal no damage, but they have the Fly and Slippery traits. When the sprite ends its move, it returns to its normal Size. However, if it ends its move in a space not large enough to accommodate its Size, the spirit is pushed back to the nearest empty space that can.
Wild Escape: when harmed, the sprite can use a reaction to move up to half its Speed and has the Slippery trait until it stops moving.
